Directions:

Boil the water in a saucepan and add the sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Remove from the heat and add the culinary buds. Allow to steep for 30 minutes as it cools. Strain through a fine-screened colander, cheesecloth or coffee filter and pour into jar or bottle. The color may be a light pink when you are all done. You can add coloring, but that is up to you. Since I add it to drinks, I just like to keep it easy.

Pro tip: Put the lavender in an empty tea bag or tea ball for easy and fast clean up.

The lavender syrup lasts 2 weeks in the fridge. A good rule of thumb is to put one ounce of lavender syrup in your 8 ounces  drink.

Here are some top lavender drink ideas:

  • Add to your latte to make it a lavender latte
  • Add it to freshly squeezed lemonade for some lavender lemonade.
  • Add a shot to your cosmopolitan or margarita
  • Pour some into your tea and serve it warm or iced.

Syrups are used by coffee shops and bartenders, because they effortlessly blend into both hot and cold drinks. We'd love to hear your favorite ways to use the syrup.
